In this class, we’ll carefully deconstruct the mechanics of the Sunanda, exploring its nuanced bodywork, arm pathways, and rhythmic timing. Together, we’ll refine the details that allow this movement to start cleanly, finish with intention, and flow seamlessly in between—so it feels both powerful and elegant.
You’ll begin with a warm-up designed to awaken the body and prepare for the layered mechanics of the Sunanda. From there, we’ll dive into a thorough breakdown of technique, paying close attention to posture, transitions, and subtle arm and hand work. Drills will help you embody the grace and strength of this modern movement, while cultivating the timing and coordination needed to bring it to life. We’ll close with a gentle cool down to release and integrate.
Guiding you through this exploration is Nivetha Shree, who brings a deep love for the Sunanda and a passion for teaching the details that make it sparkle on stage and in the circle. Whether you’re just beginning to learn the Sunanda or looking to refine your technique, this class will help you unlock new levels of grace in motion.
